Tips For Pregnancy – The Last Third

From one minute to the next, nothing is the same as before. Sometimes it’s a pink line, then two, or a cross – every pregnancy test is different, yet they all show in a very short time whether you’re expecting or not. A visit to the gynecologist usually provides the final certainty.

And then? To make the 40 weeks until birth as comfortable as possible, we’ve put together a few pregnancy tips .

Today: The last third.

The last third

It’s not long now until your baby arrives. While some are still running last-minute errands and preparing the nursery, others are enjoying the peace and quiet and tuning into themselves.

A few final tips from the Parents’ Handbook editors.

Movement

Gymnastics or yoga, cycling, and walking – exercise is a good way to improve physical well-being, even in the last few weeks before birth. It also ensures restful sleep .

So don’t be afraid to be active – always do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable!

What helps against heartburn?

72 percent of pregnant women suffer from heartburn, especially in the last few weeks. Are you one of them? Mineral water with a high bicarbonate content, milk, a handful of almonds, or a piece of Camembert can help.

By the way, the acidic burps are caused by hormones. But they’re also caused by the growing uterus with your baby. This temporarily presses on the stomach sphincter, causing stomach acid to enter the esophagus.

No stress!

A basic rule for all areas and phases of life takes on even more importance than usual in the final weeks of pregnancy. Listen to your inner voice and your body’s signals: How are I and the baby doing? Shortness of breath, back pain, breast tenderness, and more frequent uterine contractions signal that your body needs more rest. Would it be nice to take a break? Then treat yourself and put your feet up: Read a good book, take a candlelit bath. Perhaps your partner can pamper you with a loving massage.

The rounder you get, the more difficult it becomes to find a comfortable sleeping position. A nursing pillow can provide relief. You can place it under your belly or rest your leg on it.

You are your best advisor!

Unfortunately, well-intentioned women are often the opposite of good. Friends, relatives, and acquaintances often offer wise advice to pregnant women without asking. Unfortunately, this often causes more uncertainty than help.

Always remember that you are your own best advisor. As long as you feel comfortable, everything is usually fine. Instead of letting yourself be disconcerted by scary stories from distant acquaintances, find a midwife you like and trust early on. She’s actually familiar with a wide range of conditions and will also have sensible advice if you’re feeling a bit anxious.

Always remember : Pregnancy and birth are completely natural events, and you instinctively know best what you – you and your baby – need!
