Tips For Pregnancy – The Second Trimester
From one minute to the next, nothing is the same as before. Sometimes it’s a pink line, then two, or a cross – every pregnancy test is different, yet they all show in a very short time whether you’re expecting or not. A visit to the gynecologist usually provides the final certainty.
And then? To make the 40 weeks until birth as comfortable as possible, we’ve put together a few pregnancy tips .
Today: The second third.
The second third
Physically, things are getting easier now. Nausea and fatigue are a thing of the past! You have more energy than you did in the first few weeks of pregnancy.
Your belly is slowly growing, and you’ve probably already told friends, family, and especially your employer that you’re pregnant. If not, you can—or rather, should—do so now without hesitation.
It’s also high time to familiarize yourself with the most important information about maternity protection .

With skin and hair
The good news: The body’s blood circulation is now much better than before pregnancy. As a result, many pregnant women seem to glow from within. Their complexion is fresh, and their hair almost always looks perfect.
Nevertheless, a pampering program is certainly just what you need: a visit to the hairdresser, a bath, relaxation, a massage. Your stomach and breasts, in particular, deserve loving care, as they undergo a remarkable process during pregnancy. To prevent stretch marks, it can help to regularly apply cream or oil to your stomach, breasts, and thighs. This is not only a balm for your skin and soul, but also a caress for your baby.
By the way: Of course, there’s special pregnancy oil, but baby oil works just as well, or simply olive oil. Adding oil to bath water also helps keep skin supple.
Important : Do not shower or bathe too hot, as this dries out the skin.
What should I wear?
If your belly is still small, it often helps to widen your waistband by adding a short elastic band around the button. But at some point, it becomes less easy, and your T-shirts suddenly reveal your belly.
Now’s the perfect time to go on a shopping spree! Well-fitting clothes boost your well-being and self-confidence when you feel shapeless or simply uncomfortable in your own skin. Functional pants that grow with your belly, beautiful underwear, and shirts or blouses also simply make everyday life easier. Especially since there are some really chic things for pregnant women.
Time out and relaxation
The boss needs some important documents quickly, your relatives are calling for help, and the kitchen looks like a mess – little breaks for you and your unborn baby are especially important right now. Set up a place to retreat: a comfortable armchair in the living room or a cozy corner in the future nursery is perfect. You can also breastfeed your baby here later.
It’s great, of course, if you can find a set hour every day to give yourself and your baby a little break.

Off on vacation (or at least to the swimming pool)!
Mid-pregnancy is the ideal time to take a relaxing trip together (at least during your first pregnancy). Your pregnancy is now stable, the hormonal transition is complete, and you’re feeling well. After consulting your gynecologist, it’s perfectly possible to fly and spend a few relaxing days.
Vacations by the water are often particularly enjoyable, as swimming is one of the sports that has the most positive effects on well-being during pregnancy. If travel is no longer possible, perhaps you can go swimming regularly.
No stress!
Relaxation is important, as is a restful night’s sleep. Those who usually sleep on their stomachs will need to reorient themselves. Sleeping on their side is usually optimal.
Tip : A large nursing pillow, which you’ll need later anyway, provides optimal support. Simply rest your upper leg on it as your belly grows.
